Teach lower- and upper-level undergraduate Psychology classes.
Advise current and prospective students in undergraduate
Psychology programs and majors.
Collaborate effectively with university faculty, staff, and
administrators, as well as members of the community.
Participate in recruitment activities for the Department of
Psychology and Counseling, the
Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts, as
well as Hardin-Simmons University.
Provide service to the university through involvement in
committees as well as university activities (e.g., commencement).
Engage in ongoing professional development as well as scholarly
work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills):
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common
scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or
complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business
community. Ability to write speeches and
articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability
to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or
boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using
whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio,
and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts,
and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of an earned Master’s degree in
Psychology is required. Candidates with an earned or in progress doctoral
degree in Psychology or closely related discipline preferred.
Teaching experience is preferred.
All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a Full-Time Exempt Level Faculty Position with a teaching load at
the Hardin-Simmons University campus. Additional travel may be required for
student evaluation/sponsorship and/or professional development. Must be willing
to relocate to Abilene, Texas, or the surrounding area to teach in-person
classes on the HSU Campus.
Must
have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving
record to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to
complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
