SUMMARY/SCOPE: The Engineering department is in the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics. The department offers baccalaureate degrees in mechanical engineering. We are looking for part-time, adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate engineering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Teach undergraduate courses in engineering. The current need is for an adjunct instructor of Engineering Graphics.

Demonstrate effective teaching strategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well as assessment.

Maintain accurate records and documents and submit timely reports. Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi, grades, and office hours.

Know and uphold the policies in the most current faculty handbook. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in engineering required.

Teaching experience is preferred.

None are required for this position at this time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing office and computer operations.

Must be able to teach in a classroom setting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week) with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.

Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
