SUMMARY/SCOPE:
We are looking for a part-time, adjunct faculty to teach either undergraduate
Psychology or graduate-level Counseling courses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate effective teaching
strategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well
as assessment.
Maintain accurate records and
documents, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students.
Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A doctoral degree in psychology or counselor education is preferred. To
teach undergraduate courses, a completed master’s degree in a relevant academic
area is required. To teach graduate-level courses a doctoral degree in a
relevant academic is required (Candidates close to completion of a relevant
doctoral degree will be considered.). Teaching experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None, although preference will be given to
candidates who are licensed or license-eligible in Texas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The
job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of
time while performing office and computer operations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)
that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons University
in Abilene, Texas.
Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
