SUMMARY/SCOPE: The Biology department is in the Holland School
of Sciences and Mathematics, and offers baccalaureate degrees in Biology and
the Public Health minor. Candidates who can teach non-majors biology, anatomy
and physiology, or microbiology are needed. Additional specialties may be
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in Biology, including, but not
limited to non-majors biology, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology.
Demonstrate effective teaching strategies by planning and implementing a
variety of teaching methods as well as assessments.
Maintain accurate records and documents and submit timely reports. Records
and documents include but are not limited to syllabi, grades, and office hours.

Bachelors Degree/Undergraduate degree in Biology required.
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours a biological field required.
Teaching experience is preferred.

The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long
periods of time while performing office and computer operations.
Must be able to teach in a laboratory setting.
This position is a part-time/temporary adjunct position (no more than 29
hours per week) with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.
Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
