SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The Chemistry and Physics department is
in the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics. The department offers
baccalaureate degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Chemistry, and
Physics. We are looking for part-time, adjunct faculty to teach Chemistry
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach undergraduate courses and
laboratories in Chemistry. The current need is for an adjunct instructor of
General Chemistry laboratory.
Demonstrate effective teaching
strategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well
as assessment.
Maintain accurate records and
documents and submit timely reports. Records/documents include but are not
limited to syllabi, grades, and office hours.
Know and uphold the policies in
the most current faculty handbook.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree/Undergraduate degree in
Chemistry required.
Master’s degree with at least
18 graduate hours in Chemistry required.
Teaching experience
is preferred

None are required for this position at this time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The job is sedentary in nature. Must be
able to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing office and
computer operations.
Must be able to teach in a
laboratory setting.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is a
part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week) with teaching
load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.
Must be a resident of the state
of Texas.
