POSITION:  Adjunct Faculty - Physician Assistant Studies Instructor

COLLEGE/DEPARTMENT:  College of Health Professions, Department of Physician Assistant Studies 

SUPERVISOR TITLE:  Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and Director of Physician Assistant Program


EXEMPTION:  Teacher Exemption

SUMMARY/SCOPE: PA Adjunct faculty will teach/coordinate a clinical course PA 6540 Family Medicine or PA 6544 Pediatrics for Summer, Fall, Spring long semesters annually and participate with departmental grading, recruitment of clinical preceptors, and student admissions. 


Grading student patient notes, evaluating preceptor feedback, assess student competency on assignments and patient logs, enter grades, coordinate schedules for students, recruit new clinical preceptors, and review student applications.

Master’s Level training in Physician Assistant Studies


Must have a current Texas PA License (or other state with eligibility for Texas licensure).  Must possess a current NCCPA Certification.


The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing office and computer operations.


Online and in classroom for callback days


This position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week) with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.

Must be a resident of the state of Texas
