SUMMARY/SCOPE:

We are looking for a part-time, adjunct faculty member to teach Elementary Spanish I, Elementary Spanish II, Intermediate Spanish I and Intermediate Spanish II courses beginning in August 2021. Our preference is for someone to teach the courses in person, but we will consider hiring someone who can only teach these courses online.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Teach basic undergraduate courses in Spanish. Maintain accurate records and documents, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students. Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree + 18 graduate hours completed in Spanish is required.

A graduate degree in Spanish is preferred. Teaching experience is preferred. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None are required for this position at this time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing office and computer operations. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This position is a part-time adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week) that involves teaching classes (preferably face-to-face, but online instruction will be considered) at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Must be a resident of the state of Texas
