Recruit,
hire, train, supervise, develop, schedule, and assess over 40 student staff
including building supervisors, fitness center attendants and lifeguards. This
is to include certifying lifeguards, continuing education for lifeguards and
assist with department-wide safety trainings.
Assist
Director of University Recreation with supervising, managing and leading
aquatic operations, programs, and services to include the effective and
efficient operation of the outdoor Brand Swimming pool.
Assist
Director with student payroll, procurement, purchases, and monthly invoices.
Coordinate
and manage all exercise programs and events.
Assist
with the operation and pool maintenance schedule including maintaining pool
chemistry, filtration, and chemical feed systems.
Ensure
chemicals in the pool are constantly monitored and comply with local, state,
and federal guidelines for pool operations.
Work
with Director of University Recreation to develop, manage, and monitor the
fitness center and aquatics program budget.
Assist
with the distribution of announcements university-wide to promote student
participation and campus engagement via social media, web, print and digital
designs, photo and video projects.
Assist
with the oversight of all recreation special events, fitness center and pool.
Work
with Director of University Recreation to develop long and short-term goals,
coordinate special events, revise departmental policies and procedures, enhance
student development, and interact with other campus entities.
Maintain
professional certifications and serve as a resource on fitness education for
the campus community.
Other
duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s
degree required.
Master’s
degree is preferred in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education,
Recreation, or related fields.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certified Pool Operations Certification preferred.
Lifeguard Certification American Red Cross
preferred.
Lifeguard Instructor American Red Cross preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is a Full-Time (30 hours a week), Non-Exempt/Hourly
Staff Position.
A regular 30-hour workweek (FT-30) is required with
varying scheduled shift hours which may include evenings, weekends, etc. during
peak season.
All hours worked beyond 40 hours in a single work
week will be compensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines.
Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s
License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under the
university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to complete work assignments
on and off campus, as needed.
Occasional travel and irregular hours are required
at times.
