Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the field.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Provide student mentorship and support.
Participate in departmental, university and
professional service.
Advise undergraduate students in the major.
Engage in appropriate and required faculty
development activities that foster achievement of program outcomes.
Participate in external and internal recruitment
activities for the CSD-SLP Program.
Assist with marketing the university speech-language
clinic.
Fulfill all classroom duties, whether face-to-face
or online, and clinical duties essential to the role of faculty, as assigned,
by the Dean/Program Chair.
Maintain records/documents/responsibilities associated
with the learning management system, including, but are not limited, to
syllabi, PowerPoints, and grades.
Supervise clinicians in the University clinic.
Schedule, announce, post, and maintain sufficient
office hours to allow students time for formal and informal contact which will
include advising, mentoring and remediation.
Strive to ensure the highest level of faculty and
student morale within the school and maintain harmonious, professional
collegial, and productive working relationships among colleagues, both within
the school and university at large.
Attend faculty meetings and participate in the
process of faculty governance within the University and the College of Health
Profession.
Participate in committees to which you are assigned
by attending regularly and fulfilling assigned responsibilities.
Participate in curriculum and program development.
Utilize evidence-based practice and best practices
in the teaching-learning process.
Participate in the preparation for and meetings of
the Accreditation and Board visits.
Know and uphold the policies in the Undergraduate, Graduate
Catalogs, Graduate
Student/Clinical Handbook, and HSU Faculty & Staff Handbook.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills):
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical
journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common
inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the
business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that
conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present
information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as
exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply
mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination
of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques,
sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING
ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive
variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with
several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree in
Speech-Language Pathology required.
Current Certificate of
Clinical Competence from ASHA required.
A current Texas License in SLP or eligibility for Texas Licensure required.
A minimum of 3 years of clinical
experience is preferred.
Undergraduate and graduate
transcripts will be requested for top candidate(s).
All qualifications
must be met by the time of the appointment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certificate of Clinical Competence in
Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from American Speech-Language and Hearing
Association.
Texas Licensure or
eligibility for Texas Licensure required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a Full-Time, Exempt Level Faculty Position with a teaching load at
the Hardin-Simmons University campus. Additional travel may be required for
student evaluation/sponsorship and/or professional development.
Must be willing to relocate to Abilene, Texas, or the
surrounding area to teach in-person classes on the HSU Campus.
A
minimum of a 40-hour workweek is expected and possibly more during peak periods
of the academic year. Infrequent work on evenings or Saturdays, when needed.
Must
have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving
record to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to infrequently complete work
assignments on and off campus, as needed.
