POSITION:  HSU Volleyball Graduate Student Worker

DEPARTMENT:  Athletics

SUPERVISOR TITLE:  Head Volleyball Coach

FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt

LOCATION:  Abilene

SUMMARY/SCOPE:

The graduate student worker for the volleyball program will assist the head coach in needs for the team on and off the court.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The candidate for the position of volleyball assistant must have good communication skills, strong administrative abilities, including a high understanding of computer skills/technology, and collegiate volleyball experience.

Duties will include assisting with practices, equipment management, compiling practice and match statistics, running social media platforms, performing office administration duties, recruit visits, and program promotions.  In the off season, duties will consist of social media responsibilities and practices.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required. Must continue education and be completing work to obtain a Master’s degree in the program of choice. Collegiate volleyball experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to carry net poles, participate in practice as needed, and lift 30-50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Time is split between office environment and on the court. Must be able to have appropriate behavior in each atmosphere.
