SUMMARY/SCOPE: Provide assistance to the game day and daily operations of the
Hardin-Simmons Athletic Communications office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The athletic communication office handles all the game day
operations as well as the social media presence for the athletic department.
All student workers will be trained on several areas not limited to: social
media, writing, game day operations, video, photography and web site
maintenance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
This is not a major
specific job, but those working towards degrees in communications and/or sports
management will get plenty of real-life work experience to help prepare you for
the future.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be flexible and have the ability to stand for long periods of
time and to move around at the speed of a game that you are covering.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mostly normal conditions except for outdoor sports (soccer,
softball, track and cross country) which will have weather come into play and
hot, cold and windy conditions are all commonplace throughout the year.
