SUMMARY/SCOPE:
We are looking for a part-time, adjunct faculty member to provide instruction for music
courses to undergraduate students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach an undergraduate course in the School of Music.
Demonstrate effective teaching
strategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well
as assessment.
Maintain accurate records and
documents, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students.
Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A master’s degree (preferably
but not necessarily in music) is required, with at least 18 graduate credits
completed in music. Teaching experience is preferred.

None are required for this position at this time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The
job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of
time while performing office and computer operations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)
that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons University
in Abilene, Texas.
Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
