Develop
design concepts for university clients, including Admissions, Advancement,
Alumni, and Athletics, based on research of best practices and tactics which
advance the creative design and messaging of HSU.
Review
projects and proofs with clients to refine concepts, content, and goals.
Partner
with the project coordinator to follow along with project timelines,
assignments, and the completion of a project.
Assist
the Creative Lead/Senior Designer on larger-scaled projects and review all
final proofs through the Creative Lead/Senior Designer and the Director for
University Marketing.
Collaborate
with the creative services team to discuss new ideas, production processes, issues
related to project intake, collaborative participation, quality control, and
budget optimization through biweekly meetings, as needed.
Attend
weekly Marketing meetings to discuss assigned projects and give weekly progress reports.
Support
the implementation and monitoring of university design and branding standards
across print and electronic materials.
Create
content for print and electronic projects, giving special attention to the
generation of original layouts, illustrations, and informational or data
graphics for a variety of assignments from substantial publications to
stand-alone visuals.
Meet
client project goals, design requests, development milestones, finished product
deadlines, and budgets.
Organize
graphic resources in the university’s digital asset management system, giving
special attention to file naming conventions, file tagging, and digital rights
management.
Maintain
accurate records of all project development files, assignments, project notes,
and communication with clients, other contributors, and outside vendors through
utilization of the Creative Service Team’s project management system
(Click-Up).
Other
duties as assigned by the Art Director/Senior Graphic Designer and the Director
for University Marketing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from four-year
college or university in Graphic Design, Art or Mass Communications; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
of education and experience in graphic design required.
Adobe
Creative Suites Experience is required.
One to
three years of graphic design experience in a professional setting preferred.

in the process of completing coursework toward an undergraduate degree from an
accredited, four-year college or university.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position
is a Non-Exempt/Hourly Staff Position (Part-Time/No Benefits).
Approximately 20
– 29 hours per week is expected. The weekly schedule will vary depending on
projects, events and/or deadlines with an average of 25 hours per week.
All hours worked beyond 40 hours in
a single work week will be compensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines.
Must have and
maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving record
to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able to
drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
Additional travel may be required on
occasion to attend training, meetings, etc.
