SUMMARY/SCOPE:
We are looking for a part-time, adjunct faculty member to teach up to two
Political Science courses during Fall and Spring semesters and to serve as
Director of the Political Science minor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach undergraduate courses, preferably face-to-face classes, in Political
Science.
Provide administrative oversight of HSU’s Political Science minor.
Demonstrate effective teaching
strategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well
as assessment.
Maintain accurate records and
documents, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students.
Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a master’s degree is required, with at least 18 graduate
hours completed in political science or a related field. A completed doctoral
degree in political science and teaching experience at the university level are
preferred.

None are required for this position at this time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long
periods of time while performing office and computer operations
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)
that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons University
in Abilene, Texas.
Must be a resident of the state of Texas
