SUMMARY/SCOPE:
We
seek a part-time, adjunct instructor to teach sections of our introduction to
visual arts course as well as additional undergraduate courses in art history.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate effective teaching strategies by
planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well as assessment.
Maintain accurate records and
documents, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students.
Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A completed master’s degree is
required, with at least 18 completed graduate credits in Art or a closely related
field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This
job requires that the instructor be able to engage the students while
teaching. Standing and moving around the
classroom and the stage, when used, is preferable to a seated position,
although allowances can be made.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)
with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.
Must be a resident of the
state of Texas.
