SUMMARY/SCOPE: PA Adjunct Faculty will coordinate and teach the PA 6264 Health Policy,
Billing, & Coding course. Duties include creation and delivery of
educational content, departmental grading, and student remediation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating lecture content, discussion posts, and
assignments for the Health Policy, Billing, & Coding course to prepare
students to enter clinical practice. Grading student discussion posts and
assignments. Timely enter grades for graded assignments/assessments in the
learning management system and enter final grades within the university system.
Be available to meet with students to answer questions, provide
guidance/feedback, and remediation as necessary. Complete all necessary
paperwork related to grading, counseling, and remediation.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduate
from an accredited PA program with a minimum MPAS degree (or equivalent) or
higher. Previous teaching or guest lecture experience in a physician assistant
program preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Licensure or eligibility for
licensure as a PA in the state of Texas.
Current NCCPA certification
required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The
job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of
time while performing office and computer operations. Be able to utilized
technology to appropriately build course content to deliver online.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Online and in classroom for callback days
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This
position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)
with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus.
Must
be a resident of the state of Texas.
